NPK analysis: Not applicable
The Magnesium in Lime aids disease resistance. The best pH is around 6.5-7.0. Lime helps to break down clay soils and improve texture. Ideal for flower borders, shrubs and trees.
Application rates:
To raise pH by 0.5 in a typical clay-loam soil you will need to apply 57g per sq m (5.7 kg per 100 sq m).
For a sandy soil, you need to apply 30g per sq m (3 kg per 100 sq m). As a rough guide, 40-50g is a handful.
Can be used throughout the year but best applied in the autumn before first frosts.
For normal soils use every third year. Acidic soil may need a yearly application. Apply evenly between plants. Avoid plant stems. Do not use on or near lime hating plants. Use at recommended rates. Increased dosage may result in damage to your plants. Avoid using on windy days.
