Brief Description

Our Granular Lime is supplied as a small 1.00mm prill which is easy to spread and dissolves within 2-3 hours after contact with moisture. Lime provides calcium for healthy plant growth and helps neutralise acidic soil by raising the pH. Improves nutrient uptake, especially phosphorus for strong roots and stems.

Lime also contains Magnesium which aids disease resistance. The best soil pH is around 6.5-7.00.  Lime also helps to break down clay soils and improve texture.  Ideal for vegetable patches. 
 

Directions for Use

For best results: 
Can be applied throughout the year but is best applied in the autumn before first frosts.  For normal soils use every third year.  Acidic soil may need a yearly application.

Application rates:
As a guide, 40-50g is about a handful.
To raise pH by 0.5 in a typical clay-loam soil you will need to apply 57g per sq m (5.7 kg per 100 sq m).
For a sandy soil, you need to apply 30g per sq m (3 kg per 100 sq m). 
Apply evenly between plants.  Avoid plant stems.  Do not use on or near lime hating plants.
Use at recommended rates. Over application may damage plants.
