April 2010

Many areas of the garden do no require any extra feeding this month but there are many jobs to keep you busy!!!!

Lawn Care

LAWNCARE

  Vegetable Garden

VEGETABLE GARDEN

  • Mow lawns and trim edges
  • Apply weed killer such as Active GS07
  • If your lawn is looking patchy apply grass seed, we have 4 different varieties available from General Purpose LC018 or Tuffgrass LC017 all have 10% off and some have even 25% Extra free.
  • Use Seed Starter LC02 with your grass seed as this will aid healthy germination.
  • To encourage spring growth use some Early Spring Starter LC01 to start the growing season off to a flying start.

  • As the weather begins to warm up now is the time to really get started in the garden.  If your garden is warm enough start planting maincrop potatoes using Organic based Potato Seed Starter VG05 to help establish the tubers.  Onion sets, Beetroot, summer cabbage, carrots to name just a few can also be sown outside now.  Use Growmore VG012 as a perfectly balanced fertilser.
  • Watch out for slugs, we stock biological nematodes VG017 or wool pellets GS012 as spoken about by Alan Titchmarsh and the regular slug pellet GS024
  • Weed often otherwise your plot will soon be over run.
